ENRICHMENT ESSAY

How do people find information that matches their/my needs?

With our ever-developing technology today, the digital media, especially the Internet, plays a very vital role in disseminating information. Almost everyone has access to the different media devices such as television, radio, computers, and even cellular phones. These different devices are primarily used for amusement and entertainment by many; however, the bigger picture is that they are actually created for communication and information dissemination. These devices became the platform for different information I need every day. For example, whenever I need to research something for my assignment, I use the Internet to look for the information I need.

How do I choose from the wide variety of information made available by different sources?

I can choose from the wide variety of information made available by different sources by determining what type of information I need and by analyzing where to find it. Determining the type of information I need is important to narrow down the huge number of possible sources of different information. Different information can be found from various sources such as different electronic devices. In an instance, if I need to know the weather forecast for the day, instead of scrolling through Facebook. I can simply go to the official website of PAGASA because I know that it provides information regarding meteorology. An important thing to remember when choosing the source of the information is that I should look for the credible or authorized person or organizations concerning the type of information I need. This is to ensure that the information I will be getting is true, accurate, and legitimate.
